Engagement Formats

Single talk engagements are certainly possible, but multi-session engagements are most effective. The following is a list of typical engagements:

• Sunday morning services + a special Sunday evening seminar
• Saturday morning or evening seminar
• All-day Saturday seminar
• Sunday services + a Monday evening seminar
• Multi-session, weekday evening seminar
• Multi-session, weekday daytime seminar

Engagement Overview

• Sun AM – Creation/Evolution & the Authority of Scripture
• Sun PM – Creation/Evolution: Answers!
• Mon PM – Creation/Evolution: The Case from Science

Sunday morning would be an introductory talk that stresses the authority and trustworthiness of Scripture, as well as the significance of the Genesis creation account to the rest of the Bible.  It serves to get everyone excited about the subject and very eager to hear more. (As an additional option, we can also conduct a combined Sunday School session – adults and children – for a talk entitled “Dinosaurs & the Bible”, which is always extremely well received.)

Sunday evening (special session) would go further into the subject by addressing a number of the top questions that people ask, such as

• If God created the universe, who created God?
• Is there life in outer space?
• Where do dinosaurs fit in the Bible?
• Was there really an Ice Age?
• What about all the ape-men?
• Where did all the “races” come from?
• Where did all the water from the flood go?
• What exactly is Carbon-14 Dating?

Monday evening would be an outreach session, focusing about 99% on what science has to say about the origin of the universe & life, knowing that seekers and skeptics don’t just want to hear Bible verses as “proof”.  It’s a tremendous opportunity for members to invite neighbors, friends, co-workers and relatives who might not normally consider going to church.  Skeptics are graciously welcomed at all of our talks!

Session Lengths

Session times can vary between 30 and 90 minutes. The ideal length of an individual session/talk would be 45-60 minutes, but each session can be as brief as 30 minutes if need be. A “Question & Answer” period is desirable if at all possible and has proven to be the highlight of each engagement. These times can be incorporated into the end of the standard session time, or as an addendum to the end of the entire engagement, or even as an entirely separate session, which greatly enhances its effectiveness.

Cost

The CreationEducationCenteris a “faith-based ministry” and relies on regular supporters, as well as free-will offerings and donations for support. We do not charge for our engagements, but simply accept free-will offerings, honorariums or whatever the church or hosting organization deems appropriate. These funds are crucial to sustaining this ministry and we humbly continue to see God supplying our needs through His people. We do ask that any actual travel expenses be covered (above and beyond the offering or honorarium) by the hosting organization (e.g. airfare, lodging, etc.).
