Creation/Evolution & the Authority of Scripture
The worldview presented to us by the media and public school system is in stark contrast to the straight-forward reading of Scripture. How are we as Christians to respond? Unfortunately, all too often, we have compromised our own message out of fear and intimidation from the world of secular science. Once we begin tampering with the authority of Scripture, it is a slippery slope that leads to all kinds of problems, especially in the morality of our own children. “Creation/Evolution & the Authority of Scripture” gives an overview of the controversy and explains why it is so important to view the Bible as the final authority in all matters. This topic is foundational to all other discussions regarding Christianity and will greatly aid in strengthening your faith in the Word of God!
Creation/Evolution – Science Speaks
It is often claimed that living in an age of modern science makes it intellectually impossible to accept the straight-forward account of creation as read in the book of Genesis. Is this true, or is this just what we are “supposed to believe”? What does the evidence actually indicate? Creation/Evolution: Science Speaks” is an exciting presentation (in layman’s terms) of evidences for creation and challenges to evolution in three main areas:
- Origin of the Universe
- Origin of Life
- Origin of Species
NOTE: This talk can be geared for a church audience (intertwining scripture with science) or as more of an outreach, in which case we simply show how science overwhelmingly supports the Genesis account. This presentation can also be modified for a public school science class, in which case references to Genesis, the Bible, church, religion, etc. are either kept to a minimum or removed completely depending upon the requests of the hosting school’s administration. Because of the potential amount of material, this talk can easily be expanded into multiple sessions.
Creation/Evolution – Answers!
Certain questions seem to arise very frequently regarding the creation/evolution controversy and this talk addresses the Top 10. It is an extremely popular presentation because it covers such a wide variety of pressing issues in single talk.
- If God created the universe, who created God?
- What exactly is Carbon-14 Dating?

- Where do dinosaurs fit in the Bible?
- Was there really an Ice Age?
- What about all the ape-men?
- Where did all the “races” come from?

Evolution: Probable or Problematic?
– A Brief Look Under the Hood
Certain aspects of evolution occasionally seem fairly plausible to many people… even Christians. If we use our imagination, we can envision fish slowly turning into amphibians, with their fins gradually being transformed into legs and their lungs adapting to breathing air.
However, when we take a closer look at what actually has to go on inside (in the DNA) we see a very different picture. It’s like looking under the hood of a beautiful red sports car only to find that its engine is completely missing! This presentation clearly demonstrates (in laymen’s terms) that molecules-to-man evolution is virtually impossible.
Dinosaurs and the Bible
Dinosaurs are both extremely fascinating and also the source of much confusion when it comes to trying to comprehend their place in God’s creation and the Bible. The media often paint a picture that is difficult to reconcile with our understanding of the Bible, so many have concluded that the Bible doesn’t mention dinosaurs or have even gone as far as to say that they never really existed!
This talk takes a look at the true history of dinosaurs, expels the myths and shows that the Bible explains the actual scientific evidence much better than any secular evolutionary stories. This talk is especially interesting to children, but adults will also be extremely intrigued.
Creation in Six Days? 
- A Biblical & Scientific Analysis
This talk is a response to those in the Christian community who have felt it necessary to reinterpret the straight-forward reading of Genesis in order to accommodate either evolution as a whole, or at least the associated “millions of years” the typically are associated with the idea of evolution. They either say the God simply “used evolution as His means of creation” or that He “created everything over millions and millions of year” (i.e. the “days” in Genesis chapter one were actually millions of years each). In this talk, both scripture and science are examined and reasons for why we should trust the straight-forward reading are presented in a very gracious, but confident manner.
Creation/Evolution & the Age of the Earth
This is an extremely interesting topic, partially because even many Christians are divided as to their opinion on the subject. There is a lot of misinformation circulating and the topic is often avoided altogether out of fear of being too controversial or even out of apathy. “Creation/Evolution and the Age of the Earth” covers what the Bible and science actually have to say concerning the age of the earth and why it really does matter. The origin of the controversy is explained in an easy to understand, gracious format, conveying the overall point that we can trust the straight-forward reading of the creation account. While it is certainly true that a person’s eternal salvation is not at all dependent on their view on the age of the Earth, it is a very interesting, thought provoking topic that does affect how we view the authority of Scripture and its relationship to science. Although we do not make this topic the focal point of our ministry, it does open a lot of eyes and brings an increased confidence in God’s Word.
Creation to Christ:
- The Old Testament in a Nutshell
We tend to teach many of the Biblical events to our children (particularly the Old Testament) as just a bunch of “disconnected stories” that have no real relevance to their own lives. They seem to survive just fine when they are very young, but as they grow and are increasingly challenged by the world regarding the validity of their faith, they all too often fall away, having only shallow beliefs (based on “cute stories”) and lacking true conviction and a solid understanding God’s Word as actual history.
This is a very “fun” topic because it has been a huge help to people when trying to get handle on the Old Testament. It allows people to see the Old Testament as one continuous story and helps them know where the dinosaurs fit in, when the flood was, how and when the ice age occurred, when Abraham came on the scene, addresses the issue of all the “violence” in the Old Testament, as well as all of the other major characters from Abraham up to Christ. It gives the audience one timeline with all the major events.
How Do We Know the Bible is the Inspired Word of God?
Everything we believe as Christians rests on the assumption that the Bible is actually the inspired, error-free Word of God… but how do we know that? It’s not politically correct to believe the Bible alone is the inspired Word of God and most Christians cannot defend this belief. Are we to exercise blind faith, or is there a great body of evidence supporting this crucial point? This topic presents an overview of evidences for the following areas that show beyond doubt that the Bible is truly the inspired Word of God:
- Internal Consistency
- History/Archaeology
- Science
- Prophecy
Intelligent Design: What’s it All About?
We hear a lot of talk about “Intelligent Design” and the “Intelligent Design Movement” these days, but we’re not always sure what it’s all about. Is it just another name for “creationism” as many claim? Is there anything good about it? Is there anything to be concerned about? Is it really “science” or just another attempt at getting the Bible back into public schools, as the media and academic institutions would have us believe? This talk defines “Intelligent Design” and discusses the pros and cons of this movement in a very easy to understand manner. It also covers some very fascinating examples of “intelligent design” that are sure to bolster your faith in the inspiration and authority of God’s Word.
